Young, young man. Did anyone ever tell you you look like a young prince out of the Arabian Nights?

Marlon Brando gives an iconic performance while Vivien Leigh, Kim Hunter and Karl Malden walk off with the Oscars in Elia Kazan's version of Tennessee Williams' volcanic A Streetcar Named Desire (1951).

Shot in beautiful black and white with a haunting jazz score by Alex North, this is the ultimate version of a Williams' play, directed by the man and most of the cast that had done it on Broadway. Vivien Leigh is fragile and unforgettable and Brando's explosive talent and raw sexuality was like nothing the movie public had ever experienced. It's the perfect companion for the Oscars.
