KAOS favourite Doug Locke is back with a chilling new video for In or Out. "The music video is a tribute one of my favorite films, the 80s vampire cult classic The Lost Boys," Doug says. "Imagine if The Lost Boys crashed a house party picking off victims one by one with the levity of Britney Spears’ Toxic. I was inspired by the charisma of Anne Rice’s character Lestat, the Vampire and by the look and feel of Fiona Apple’s Criminal music video."

WHERE WORDS FAIL, MUSIC SPEAKS

When I was a baby gay, back in the '90s, there wasn't much in the way of openly gay artists. There was David McAlmont, then at his creative peak with A Little Communication and his cover of Diamonds Are Forever. There was George Michael, also doing well with Fastlove and his Older album. And there were people like Marc Almond, the relics of another generation. Slim pickings.

Today, the children have a whole array of sizzling gay artists to look up to (even if cynically marketed straight women continue to monopolise): Zebra Katz, Le1f, Cakes Da Killa, Freaky Boiz, Kele Okereke, Mika, Steve Grand, Shamir (he hasn't said he's gay, but...), and let's not forget Five Star Niggaz, to name a few.

And then there's Doug Locke, whose video for the insanely catchy #ThisCouldBeUs blew everyone away. He's back with another soaring tune, King, the video for which is a bittersweet epic. Let's just say it's been playing on a loop. And did I mention Mr Locke is very easy on the eye? Baby gays everywhere will be crushing like crazy...

THERE'S A revolution going on right now. Hot, young gay artists are taking the fight to iTunes, and winning.

Le1f, Zebra Katz, Sam Smith, Troye Sivan, Ken Dahl... Our boys are delivering the goods. Add another name to that list: Doug Locke. His latest tune, #ThisCouldBeUs, is ridiculously catchy, but the upbeat tempo masks the poignant story Locke is telling.

"We all have those former loves that, while life may have lead us in different directions, we find ourselves reminiscing over, daydreaming about what could have been," Locke told The Huffington Post. "I'm a firm believer that once you give a person a piece of your heart, you never truly get it back."

The accompanying video will choke you up, whether you've loved and lost or not. The end of the video floored me. Don't miss it.

(P.S. Doug Locke is sexy as hell. Get more Doug here.)
