THE BBC HAS UNVEILED the new Doctor Who logo, which will appear in the new series in Spring 2010.
It's a huge improvement on the revolting, bland orange motif used since 2005, which to my mind bore no relation to Doctor Who whatsoever.
Steven Moffat, the new Lead Writer and Executive Producer, says: "A new logo. The 11th logo for the 11th Doctor – those grand old words, Doctor Who, suddenly looking newer than ever. And, look at that, something really new – an insignia! DW in TARDIS form! Simple and beautiful, and most important of all, a completely irresistible doodle." The 11th logo bit is debatable, unless you count variations of one or the other. I'd make this the ninth logo. But Mr Moffat is right to say the TARDIS-shaped insignia is new. It looks stunning, and promises much for the future... After the jump, a look at all of the logos used since 1963 (in reverse order).
