Unreal
Fargo
Film Skool
| Oft-imitated but never matched, Joel & Ethan Coen (No Country For Old Men) are among the most celebrated filmmakers working in the world today. With Fargo, a darkly comic crime story set in small town Minnesota, they created one of the defining films of the 1990s.
Desperate for money, small town car salesman Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy) hires two squabbling criminals (Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare) to kidnap his wife with a view to extracting a hefty ransom from his wealthy father-in-law. But once the kidnapping takes place, nothing goes according to plan, and as the police investigate the bloody fallout, the hole Jerry digs for himself just keeps getting deeper.
Featuring an iconic performance from Frances McDormand as pregnant police chief Marge Gunderson, Fargo’s mix of absurdist wit and shocking violence earned the film acclaim and awards across the globe, including Academy Awards for Best Actress and Best Original Screenplay.
Cujo
Film Skool
| In 1981, Stephen King terrified millions with the release of his novel Cujo. Just two years later, the soon-to-be cult classic screen adaptation was a box office hit, bringing Cujo to an entirely new audience.
While Donna (Dee Wallace, The Frighteners) and Vic Trenton (Daniel Hugh Kelly) struggle to save their rocky marriage, their son Tad befriends a lovable St. Bernard – Cujo. What they don’t realise, however, is that a rabies-infected bat bite has transformed man’s best friend into a merciless and ravenous killing machine. Now trapped in their broken-down car with this beast on the prowl, Tad and Donna must find a way to escape this hellhound’s insatiable hunger...
