Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum has digitised a staggering 700,000 artworks - and made them available to reuse copyright (and royalty) free under Creative Commons 1.0 Universal (CC0 1.0) Public Domain Dedication. The site allows you to download high resolution images to reuse as you wish (the infanticide in Bethlehem on a cushion cover, anyone?) or you can simply browse the collection, zooming in on detail.
