Adapted from the director Kuang-Hui Liu's high school memories, Your Name Engraved Herein is about two high school boys in an all-male boarding school exploring their friendship and genuine love for each other against the backdrop of the 1980s when Taiwan recently lifted its strict martial law, amid a transition from conservative society to become the most LGBT-friendly country in Asia. When the boarding school begins admitting females, their relationship faces an ultimate test with the emergence of a school girl.
Your Name Engraved Herein is Taiwan’s all-time highest-grossing LGBT film, receiving five Golden Horse Award nominations in 2020.
