AN 18-YEAR-OLD BOY has been stabbed to death in Bow, East London.

Salum Kombo was pronounced dead at the scene 1840 GMT on Sunday.

He is the eleventh boy to die violently this year. In addition, two girls were murdered in separate incidents on 22nd Febuary and 25th June respectively.

Last year, 28 teenage boys were murdered in London.

Salum migrated to Britain from Tanzania seven years ago, and had hoped to become an artist.

A local resident said: "The family were sitting there singing Christmas carols at home, then he went out to get something to eat and this has happened. It's heartbreaking that this has happened so close to Christmas and it has affected the whole neighbourhood."

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
