Film Skool
|Mantrap (1953), the stylish crime thriller directed by Terence Fisher, returns in a stunning new 4K restoration, bringing renewed clarity to one of Hammer’s most fascinating noir-era films.
Starring Paul Henreid in an offbeat turn as a former intelligence officer turned amateur detective, Mantrap follows an unlikely sleuth as he becomes entangled in a dangerous web of deception, murder, and misplaced trust. Shot on real London locations still scarred by the Blitz, the film captures a city and nation in transition.
This Limited Collector’s Edition marks the first-ever home video release of Mantrap, anywhere and in any format, and includes both the UK version (Mantrap) and the US release (Man in Hiding), newly restored from the original film negatives.
Exclusive features include new audio commentaries from Film Noir UK’s James Harrison and film historian Sergio Angelini, alongside cult cinema writers Toby Roan and Heath Holland, plus newly produced featurettes exploring the film’s literary origins, its cast, and its place within Hammer’s crime-era output. Archival behind-the-scenes footage, stills, and a deluxe booklet of newly commissioned essays complete this definitive edition.
