Boffins have only gone and done something positive for once, instead of just uncovering new ways of getting cancer. Medical boffins (and probably boffinettes too, I might add) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City have stopped the ageing process in an entire organ for the first time, like, ever. Sadly, it isn't the skin (bet you lot didn't know that is an organ though, innit). Blocking the build-up of harmful proteins in mice livers halted the ageing process. The boffins also found that older organs functioned just as well as when the host animal was younger. There's a lot more malarkey about cleaning mechanisms and cells this, cells that, blah blah blah, but if you're that interested you'll click the link below. My attention span ain't what it was.
