Golliwog Not Welcome At The BBC

THIS STORY'S BEEN brewing all week, and I can't leave it alone any longer. Carol Thatcher, whose shrew of a mother thoroughly trashed Britain in the 1980s, referred to tennis cutey Jo-Wilfried Tsonga earlier this week as a golliwog. The slur was made off-air on The One Show. The presenter of that show, Adrian Chiles, challenged the comment, an apology was demanded and refused, and the saggy old cow was booted off the show, from which she's now been banned. But she hasn't been banned from the BBC as a whole, something I find staggering. The latest development is equally astounding. The pudgy crab's agent Ali Gunn is demanding the BBC apologise for leaking news of the incident. "I would like to say that this comment was made in jest afterwards in the green room over a drink and no one objected to it at the time. I think it's absolutely outrageous that the BBC has condoned this leak." The BBC, even more astoundingly, are being forced to defend their position. Jay Hunt, Controller of BBC One, says: "What Carol decides to say in the privacy of her own home or in a private conversation with friends is one thing. What she says in a greenroom space, when there are 12 people [there], in her capacity as a roving reporter for The One Show is a rather different thing. On this occasion, her using this phrase and it being overheard and having caused offence to a number of people was totally inappropriate. It was deemed inappropriate in the circumstances for her to continue to work on a show that prides itself not just on the diversity of its production team but on the range of its coverage across the country. I think everybody will be able to see that that is not an appropriate place for her to work." Hear, hear! Slap the bitch down. On the other hand, the whole hoo-ha is an excuse to run some pictures of Tsonga. Whilst not as well-endowed in the posterior region as bootylicious Rafael Nadal, he's better looking. And nothing like a golliwog, you wrinkled old bint.

  3. Exactly - and I can't believe that her being the daughter of the only woman to have had a widespread negative effect on Britain for an entire generation (maybe longer) isn't ENOUGH to have her banned from ALL forms of public media!

Tories: Bunch of Racist Bastards; they'll never change, no matter how "nice" their leader looks...
